Description:
This module is designed to provide students with an understanding of the key concepts of Building Science including how to control heat, air and sound movement in buildings. Based on design strategies, students will learn how to use these concepts to design better buildings both interior and exterior. Toe coverage of course will be the requirements for human comfort are introduced followed by a discussion of how climates are characterized and finally how building operation is related to energy use, acoustics and climate impacts.
Objectives:
This module aims to develop students’ critical knowledge and understanding on the technical aspect of science of a building ranging from methods to control heat, to sounds and movements in a building. This would then allow students to design a better spatial environment for the benefit of its occupants.
